Birthday Presents
Sawyer seems to have an abundance of little girl friends, who all seem to have birthdays in the Sring. I decided that I wanted to do something creative and fun for their Birthdays. All of their moms said they love to dress up so I came up with this. I made them tutu's and t-shirts with their names on them. The gift is completed with a princess crown( not shown). I hope they enjoy them as much as I did making them. If you are one of the moms of the little girls whos birthday happens to be in the next couple months....LOOK AWAY, (or act surprised). Here are the pictures of the first completed one!

5 for Friday
It's been a while since I have done one of these, but I had a request from one of the 4 people that even reads my blog. I don't want to dissapoint my readers so here goes.
1) Last weekend was my birthday! It was my first birthday away from home, so it was different to say the least. But thanks to my wonderful husband, and my dear friends it was one I will never forget. My friends Erin , Stephanie, and Cate threw me a surprise party!!! I haven't had one of those since I was a little girl. It was so much fun. They had all my favorite things, Chicken nuggets from McDonalds, unsweet tea from Chick-Fil-A, A red velvet cake from CPK, and so many more. It was so fun to get to celebrate with everyone. Sunday Paul, Sawyer and I went out to lunch with some friends, and then spent the day together. We went to the park, on a walk, shopping and out to dinner. It was wonderful way to celebrate my birthday. I think 25 is going to be a great year.
2) My dear husband got me a sewing machine for my birthday. I love it. I had been saying how I had really wanted to learn to sew. I'm so excited about it, and already sewed a couple things. I'm hoping to be able to make stockings for Christmas. We'll see. So far I have sewed some headbands, so we have a long way to go. I really am enjoying it. Thanks Paul!
3) Sawyer's Birthday is less then a month away. Its hard to believe tat he is going to be 4. It's crazy how time flies. Birthday preperations are under way. He has decided to do a pirate themed party at Chuck E. Cheese. I have few fun ideas for the kids. Look for Birthday posts in the near future. I will show some of the fun things I have made or will be making to make the day really special.
4) I have finished my first "Blog Book". My friend Erin had told me about this website that allows you to turn your Blog into a book. I finally finished putting in all my posts and editing them. I'm now anxious to get it ordered and see how it looks. I'm really excited about this idea. I'm hoping to make memory books of our life this way. I just cant keep up with the scrapbooking(even though I love it). I put pretty much everything we do on the blog, so I think it will be a great way to keep record of our happenings. It also keeps me motivated to post.
5) Easter is right around the corner. We are excited to spend our first Easter in Texas(also a little bit sad) We will miss everyone back home, and all the fun things we always do together. It will be fun to take those traditions and carry them on here and share them with our new friends. It's also been fun to share with Saywer what Easter is all about. This is the first year he is really able to understand why we celebrate Easter. He is Risen....

Circus
Last weekend we took Sawyer to the circus. It was the first time he had ever been, and really enjoyed it. It was a great little circus that was a perfect way to introduce Sawyer to what the circus is. It had a very old-timey feel and was just all around fun. I cant forget to mention the weather. Friday was the most beautiful day we have had all year, 72 and sunny. So we were so excited for beautiful weather for our trip to the circus....HAHAHAHAHA. One of the things that stands out most to me in our almost 2 years here is how bi-polar the weather is. Saturday was 30 degees and WINDY. We were freezing. We had to pull out our jackets and gloves and hats. It snowed again that night and Sunday...crazy. Well we endured the cold and had a great time anyway. Thanks to the Palmers for the invite. There are a ton of pictures. Enjoy!

This guy was the highlight of the show...Amazing.

It's hard to see, but he's mouth juggling with ping pong balls.

We won a balloon.

The lighting is realy bad on these.

crafty times
I love reading blogs, and have come across some super fun crafty blogs in the last few weeks. I have really enjoyed seeing all there fun creative ideas come to life. I love crafty things. I dont have the creative ideas, but I really enjoy replecating the ones I see. Here are a few of the ones I really loved. I'm hoping in the near future to post a couple more projects i'm eager to try. I'm also hoping to learn to sew. Here are some pictures of the crafts I have copied from blogs, and friends.

Here is a Birthday banner. We always hang balloons for our birthdays around the house, so i thought this would be a nice addition.

These are tissue paper on canvas to make art for your walls. These aren't good pictures, but all I had. This is a really fun, inexpensive way to add some color to your walls.

They look better in person.

This was my first attempt at cake decorating.

Lego star Wars ships complete the look. The compromise, for a fun to be one party, and a daddy that loves star wars.
